What is Sailor Myth?
It's basically a Battle Royale RPG with sailor senshi. There will be blood, tears, and talking animals!
The Setup: Ancient gods and goddesses were actually senshi. The mythic senshi are returning in the form of a new generation of sailor soldiers in New York City. They are joined by senshi named for celestial objects. All the different senshi teams are fighting to gain control of magic crystal shards of power. Get a bunch of shards, something incredible happens!

How do I participate?
By joining either our mailing list or deviantART group! You can join both if you want, but it's not required. Announcements will be posted at both.
What are the senshi based on?
You can have senshi based on nearly anything. Any god or goddess, any large, naturally-occurring object in space, even other things that can't be mentioned yet. We start the game with six teams:
Theos (Greek)
Kemet (Egyptian)
Calhua (Aztec)
Seraphim (Angels)
Celestial (space stuff)
The Irregulars (any god or goddess you want)

What makes it different?
- Playing multiple characters is allowed. Can't decide between a Calhua or a Celestial? Do both!
- Killing characters is allowed. (Be sure to read the specifics!)
- Male/older/younger senshi welcome. Teenage girls may be our bread and butter, but variety is part of our special brand of crazy.
- Serious drama and humor are equally valued. We feel this is totally in keeping with the nature of the original show. In one chapter, senshi may fight a brutal and bloody battle, while the next has them falling on their faces at the Rockefeller ice rink!
- Less-than-ideal senshi powers. In Sailor Myth, it's all about making the best of a bad situation. We have a long tradition of senshi with seemingly lame abilities -- who then figured out how to use their lame abilities to win battles. Even a swarm of butterflies can be deadly if they obscure your vision and prevent you from seeing an oncoming train!
- Since some ancient cultures didn't cover up boobs, you're allowed to have female senshi with uncovered chests on those teams. (And female toplessness is totally legal in NYC, where the game takes place. Yay gender equality!)
- Characters aren't expected to exist in a vacuum - interaction with friends, family, and other non-senshi NPCs is part of what makes the universe real. It's not just the story of the senshi, but also the terrible effects of having to keep secrets from the people you love the most.
- Each senshi team gets assigned a fast food chain for their meetings. (Yes, really. It's tradition!) Will you be hanging at Taco Bell with the Theos, or maybe guzzling sodas at Burger King with the Kemet?
What do I need to join?
Five things.
It can take a few tries to polish up your character application and get it approved. This is normal, and there's nothing we love more than patience and persistence in applicants!
- A cool fuku design. (No drawing skills required, and lots of help is available.)
- Basic English skills. (Writing primer coming soon to help.)
- Completed Character Application. (More info here.)
- A deviantART account or subscription to the Yahoo! mailing list.
- A place to post your profile. (On devART or a quickie website builder like Weebly is fine.)
- Patience!

Can I use my existing fan senshi?
Yes, absolutely! Just tweak your senshi to fit the setting. If you need help, feel free to ask!
I can't draw a kick-ass fuku!
That's not a question! Anyway, no actual art skill is required. If you think pencils and pens ought just to be to put words on paper, you have several options.
- Adopt a fuku design. We keep a folder of designs available for applicants, so just pick one that matches your desired team and you're done. (If no designs are available for your desired team, feel free to make a request.)
- Reference. Each of our mythic senshi teams has a gallery of reference images to help with ideas. Feel free to cut and paste from the references (or anywhere else on the internet) to help describe your fuku. You can just say "a collar like this one, only neon pink, and black shoes like this."
- Scribble it on a base. Seriously, no one will judge your art skills.
- Ask for assistance. You can ask via the devART group, the mailing list, our tumblr, or by e-mailing sailormyth@gmail.com. Please be prepared to show that you have completed at least 50% of your written application, only because it would suck to spend a lot of time trying to help people who then never finished their applications.
- Just use words. You can totally go the straight written route and not use visual aids at all. We may need to go through some back and forth to make sure we understand what your fuku looks like, but it won't keep you from joining and getting started in the game!
What do I get if I join?
Everyone who gets a character through the application process can expect to receive at least one gift commission gratis, courtesy the GM. (Just my little way of saying welcome!) You also get the prestige and honor of being accepted into an exclusive club. To top it all off, you get to have crazy awesome adventures with potentially topless senshi in the Big Apple! Senshi subway battles, anyone?
Why are Japanese and English terms being used for non-Japanese god-based senshi?
To be honest, at some point you just have to accept a little leeway so that it can still be called Sailormoon. That said, we have attempted to provide each team with alternate titles more suited their origins if you so prefer.
